Member of Parliaments of CPN-UML participated in the meeting of the House of Representatives after a long time. The MPs participated in the budget session without any protest.

After the split of the CPN-UML, the UML lawmakers had been obstructing the daily sittings of the last parliamentary session demanding action against the lawmakers who had split from the party. However, the UML participated in the budget session of the parliament which started today.

At the beginning of today's meeting, UML leader Pradip Gyawali informed that the UML has now changed its form of protest and participated in the meeting as it was necessary to discuss the situation of the country in the parliament. According to him, Nepal's trade deficit has increased while the foreign exchange reserves have decreased. He further added that not even 30 percent of the annual budget has been spent in a period of 10 months. He asked the Chief Justice, the Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank, and the security forces to try to make amends.

He also questioned the fairness of the election. He stressed the violation of the code of conduct and also added misuse of resources by people in power.

He informed that two UML cadres were killed in Rukum and Taplejung districts. He said that UML had won 99 out of 322 seats declared in the local level elections and 140 seats were yet to be declared.
