SUNSARI: A total of 29 houses were gutted in a fire that broke out in Bengali Tole in Harinagar Rural Municipality-5 of Sunsari.

In the incident that took place today 29 houses belonging to 12 families were completely burnt down in the fire said to have originated from an electrical short circuit. The houses of locals Sikandar Ali, Zubair Ali, Sabbir Ali, Abuhelal Ali, Imtaz Alam, Ashfaq Ali, Imshak Ali, Parvez Ali, Irfan Mian, Fayyaz Alam and Kaisher Ali were completely burnt down in the fire, Superintendent of Police Suman Timsina said.

Similarly, the houses of Najam Mian and Naushad Mian have been partially damaged. The fire destroyed food, clothes, furniture and jewellery inside the houses, said Superintendent of Police Timsina.
