The Madhes Province Blind Cricket Association has emerged victorious in the province-level blind cricket tournament.
In a final match of the tournament held at the cricket ground of Birgunj-based Narayani Stadium on Saturday, the Madhes Province defeated the Gorkha Blind Cricket Association of the Gandaki province by nine wickets to become the winner.
Ujeli Chaudhary of Madhes Province was declared the 'player of the match' while Nabin Tamang of Madhes Province won the 'man of the series title in the tournament.
With the win, Madhes Province received a cash prize of Rs 30,000 with a medal and trophy while the runner-up Gorkha Blind Cricket Association of Gandaki got Rs 15,000 with a trophy and medal.
A total of 60 blind cricketers, including 16 women from four provinces participated in the tournament that was organized to boost the confidence of visually-impaired cricket players and unleash their latent talents.
The tournament was jointly organized by Nepal Blind Cricket Association and Madhes Province Blind Cricket Association.
Programme Coordinator of Nepal Blind Cricket Association Mahesh Saha informed that Province-1, Madhes Province, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province took part in the tournament. ---
