Nepal Golf Association has been helping talented golfers who are financially weak build houses. Earlier, golfers Shukra Bahadur Rai and Tanka Bahadur Karki were assisted in building a house. Now, the association is going to build a house for another high-potential player Subash Tamang.
The association has been able to raise funds to build a house for Tamang, a Nepali golfer who has won various national and international competitions. Tamang, a permanent resident of the southern part of Lalitpur, is living with his parents in a small hut. After seeing the condition of his house, Nepal Golf Association decided to help him build a house and organized a charity golf tournament last Saturday.
Along with the money collected from the tournament, 72 players who participated in the tournament voluntarily helped Subhash. Various players who have been involved in golf for a long time have donated up to one and a half lakh rupees. Thus, Rs 1.5 million was collected during the game on the same day.
Chairman of Nepal Golf Club Tasi Ghale has informed that some more money will be collected which will be used to build a fiber house in Tamang’s village. Nepal Golf Association will be forming a committee for the construction of the house.
Tamang has been involved in golf since he was a child. He learned to play golf from an early age and is now an established national player. He also won two gold medals in golf at the 13th South Asian Games in Kathmandu. He has also played golf in different countries.
He is currently preparing for the Asian Games to be hosted by China.
