Nepali woman summits Everest for 10th time

Lhakpa Sherpa has successfully climbed Mt. Everest 10 times. Lhakpa, 48, of Sankhuwasabha is actually the second Nepali woman to reach the summit of Everest after her expedition in 2000.

She had managed to reach the summit of Mount Everest for the tenth time this morning at 5 AM.

Before this, she held the world record for a woman to climb Mt. Everest the most number of times. She has succeeded in breaking her own record.

Lhakpa climbed Mt. Everest from the southern face in 2000. In her 2001 expedition, she managed to climb Mount Everest from the northern face of Tibet.

Since then, she has climbed Mt. Everest seven times from the northern face. The last time she climbed Mt. Everest was in 2018 from the northern route.

Lhakpa, a mother of 3 children lives in the United States.
