KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported that Nepal is currently under the influence of westerly and local winds.

Along with these systems, moist air flowing in from the Arabian Sea is significantly affecting the nation’s weather patterns.

As per the Division, most parts of the country are experiencing generally to fully cloudy skies.

Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is taking place in several areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, as well as in parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Scattered rainfall has also been observed in other regions.

Rainfall is expected to persist this afternoon, particularly in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and other provinces, where thunder and lightning are also likely.

For tonight, isolated areas in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces may witness heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, light rain and snowfall are likely in some high-altitude and mountainous regions.

The Division has advised the public to remain cautious and adopt safety measures, as the adverse weather may pose risks to health, disrupt daily life and activities, and affect agriculture, roadways, and air travel.
