KATHMANDU: On the last trading day of the week, Thursday, the NEPSE index increased by a modest percentage point. Today, a single-digit increase was seen in the stock market. Compared to the previous day, the market index NEPSE increased by 3.35 points. After that increase, NEPSE has settled at 2,703 points. The trading amount also increased on this day.
While shares worth Rs 5.44 billion were traded on Wednesday, Rs 7.84 billion were traded on Thursday. This amount has increased compared to the previous day. Today, 15.52 million shares of 324 securities were bought and sold. The share price of 93 companies increased while that of 151 companies decreased.
The strongest sector, banking, increased by 0.96 percent (13 points), making the overall market growth rate positive. Most sectors decreased. Apart from banking, other sectors increased by 1.45 percent, hydropower by 0.03 percent and non-life insurance by 0.59 percent. The trade sector decreased by the most by 1.66 percent. Development Bank 0.17, Finance 1.59, Hotel and Tourism 0.12, Investment 0.03, Life Insurance 0.66, Manufacturing 0.98, Microfinance 0.37 percent decreased.
The price of Green Ventures increased the most by 10 percent. Similarly, Supermadi increased by 6.95, Radhi Vidyut by 4.90, NLG Insurance by 4.63 percent. The price of Upkar Laghubitta decreased the most by 7.8 percent. Win Nepal Laghubitta decreased by 6.1, Guardian Microlife Insurance by 6.1, and Bottlers Nepal Balaju by 5.8 percent. On this day, the price of Green Ventures increased the most by 9.99 percent.
The price of the company per share has reached Rs. 505.20 paisa. Similarly, the share price of Supermadi Hydropower has increased by 6.09 percent to Rs. 955.80 paisa per share. The price of Upkar Laghubitta fell by 9.10 percent to Rs 3,256.10 per share. The price of Guardian Micro Insurance fell by 6.86 percent to Rs 2,405 per share.
Himalayan Reinsurance was the most traded company on Thursday. The company’s shares worth Rs 723.2 million were traded at Rs 1,057 per share. This price is 2.59 percent higher than the previous day. The second company with the highest share purchase and sale is Nepal Reinsurance. The company’s shares worth Rs 559.9 million were traded.
