CIB arrested a man on charge of swindling money from people aspiring to go abroad and who had been absconding from Tokha Municipality-10 in Kathmandu district.
The accused has been identified as Ganesh Raut (34) of Udayapur district.
Raut allegedly lied to one victim that he would send him to Panama by following all criteria for foreign employment. He had also prepared a fake e-visa for the victim. Raut allegedly swindled Rs 1.83 million out of him. After the incident, he had gone missing and contactless.
Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB) personnel nabbed him from Samakhusi on Monday.
He has been handed over to the Buddhanagar-based Foreign Employment Board for necessary action, informed the Bureau.
