Preparations for the counting of votes in Kathmandu Metropolitan City have reached the final stage. An all-party meeting held on Friday night had decided to count the votes from 8 am today.
The counting of votes will be done at the office of the Returning Officer in the National City Hall. The office is currently distributing identity cards to the party representatives for the counting of votes, said Election Officer Prem Kumar Shrestha.
He informed that in the initial stage, preparations have been made to conduct the counting from one place while additional counting stations will be added soon. Initially, the votes of wards 1 and 32 will be counted, said Superintendent Shrestha. In the election held on Friday, 63.49 percent of the votes had been cast in the metropolitan area.
