CPN-UML Vice-Chairman Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that the local government should be elected from the democratic process as it is the home court government of the Nepali people as per the constitutional provision of Nepal. He also said that the voting for the formation of local government across the country today was a beautiful example of democratic practice.
Talking to reporters after casting his vote at the polling station at Butwal Sub-metropolitan Ward No. 8 this morning, Poudel, who is also the former finance minister, urged the people to use their discretion to elect a government of their own.
Stating that the people's desire to form a strong local government has been fulfilled through elections, he expressed confidence that this election and its subsequent leadership would strenghten the relationship between the people and the people's representatives.
