A polling station has been changed in the district today. According to the District Election Office, Saptari, the polling station has been shifted from Jamuni Madhepura, a VDC building in Bishnupur village municipality with four polling stations.
The polling station has been shifted to Sarada Higher Secondary School, Jamuni Madhepura, said District Election Officer Ramesh Joshi. According to him, the polling station is 100 meters away from the old place.
Election Officer Yadav Prasad Neupane said that the all-party meeting held at the office of the Returning Officer has set up a new polling station as it would be very inconvenient to cast vote due to lack of space in the previously designated polling station.
A total of 297 polling stations have been fixed in the district for the upcoming local elections. Of these, 208 are highly sensitive, 85 are sensitive and four polling stations are normal. A total of 536 polling officers and the same number of assistant polling officers have been deployed for the 536 polling stations in 297 polling stations in nine municipalities and nine villages of the district.
Chief Electoral Officer Chandra Mani Gyawali said that the polling officer, assistant polling officer, assistant staff and office assistants have gone to their respective polling stations carrying ballot papers, ballot boxes and other election materials.
