Election: Congress ranks first in Rupendehi

The results of the local level election-2022 AD have been made public after the counting of votes in most of the municipalities of Rupandehi district has been completed. Results of 13 out of 16 local bodies of Rupendehi have been made public.

Out of the declared sub-metropolitan, 3 municipalities and 10 village municipalities, Nepali Congress has won the most number of seats. Out of these, the Congress has won in 1 sub-metropolis, 2 municipalities and 5 villages. Similarly, the CPN (UML) has won in one municipality and two villages.

The Congress has won the only Butwal sub-metropolitan chief of the district. Khel Raj Pandey has won the post of deputy chief while Savitradevi Aryal of UML has won the post of deputy chief.

Out of 19 wards in Butwal sub-metropolis, Congress has won in 12 wards. In Butwal sub-metropolitan constituency, Congress has fielded Vishnu Dhakal in ward no. 3, Narishwar Sharma in ward no. 4, Hari Prasad Shrestha in ward no. 5, Loknath Neupane in ward no. 6, Padmaraj Gaha in ward no. 7, Yagya Prasad Pangeni in ward no. According to the Office of the Returning Officer, Narayan Prasad Pun, Shiva Rana in 15, Krishna Prasad Poudel in 16 and Gyan Bahadur Reshmi in 17 won.

Similarly, UML has elected Bal Bahadur Pun Magar in Ward No. 10, Ram Chandra Chhetri in Ward No. 11, Dadhiram Neupane in Ward No. 14, Guruprasad Pangeni in Ward No. 18 and Chandra Singh Thapa in Ward No. 19. Independent candidate Narendra Basnet and CPN (Unified Socialist) Sunil Shakya have been elected from Ward No. 1 and Ward No. 2 respectively.

Similarly, the final counting of votes has been completed in Siddharthnagar town, which is the gateway to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. Congress candidate Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan has won in this city while UML's Uma Adhikari has won in the Deputy Chief. Similarly, Congress has won 5 out of 13 wards, UML 4, RPP 3 and Janata Samajwadi Party 1 ward.

The CPN-UML has emerged victorious in Devdah Nagar, which is also known as Buddhamavali. UML's chief candidate Dhruv Kharel and deputy chief Vidyalakshmi Gurung have won in this city. Nepali Congress has won 6 wards, UML has won 5 wards and RPP has won one ward. Meanwhile, Phanindra Prasad Sharma of the Nepali Congress (NC) has emerged victorious in Sainamina Nagar while Rana has emerged victorious in the Deputy Chief. Out of 11 wards in the city, UML has won 7, Congress 3 and UCPN (Maoist) 1 ward.

Similarly, the Nepali Congress has won in Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha. Sajaruddin Musalman of the Nepali Congress has won the mayoral post and Kalpana Harijan of the UML has won the deputy mayoral post. In Lumbini, CPN-UML has won 5 out of 13 wards, Nepali Congress 3, Janata Samajwadi Party 3, Janata Party and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party 1-1.

Bishnu Prasad Basyal of the Nepali Congress has emerged victorious in the district's Shuddhodhan village municipality while Shanta Devi Gyawali of the CPN-UML has emerged victorious in the election. In this municipality which has seven wards, UML and JSP have won in five wards and one ward each.

Similarly, Nawaraj Dhakal of the Nepali Congress has won in Kanchan village municipality while Mausami Thapa has won for the post of vice-chairman. Nepali Congress has won in 3 out of 5 wards and UML in 2 wards.

Dhurwanarayan Chaudhary of the Mayadevi Village Congress and Narmada Devi of the Democratic Socialist Party have won the election. Out of the eight wards of the municipality, Congress has won 3/3 and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party has won in two wards.

Similarly, UML's Manjit Kumar Yadav has won the post of chairperson while Sunita Chaudhary of Nepali Congress has won the post of vice-chairperson. Out of the six wards in the municipality, Congress has won in four wards while RPP and Maoists have won in one ward each.

In Rohini village of the district, Janata Samajwadi Party's Bidya Prasad Yadav has won the post of chairman while Rastriya Prajatantra Party's Sivakanti Chamar has won the post of vice-chairman. Out of 7 wards of this municipality, RPP has won in 4 wards, Congress in 2 wards and Jaspa in 1 ward.

Similarly, Thaneshwor Ghimire of the Nepali Congress has been elected as the chairman of Siyari village municipality and Tara Tharu of the same party has also been elected as the vice-chairman. Out of the seven wards of this municipality, Congress has won in 4 wards, UML in 2 wards and RPP in one ward.

Gaya Prasad Barai of Janata Pragatisheel Party and Asha Singh have been elected vice-chairmen of Marchwari village municipality in the southern Marchwar area of ​​the district. In three of the seven wards of this municipality, Jaspa, Janata Pragatisheel have won in two wards and Congress and Janmat Party have won in one ward each.

UML's Surendra Poudel and Madhuri Jaiswal have won in Gaidhawa municipality. UML has won in three of the nine wards, Congress in three, Swatantra in one ward and Janmat Party in the other two wards.

Similarly, Congress' Binod Kumar Srivastava and Kumari Priyanka Shahi Singh have been elected as the chairperson and vice-chairperson of Sammarimai village municipality respectively. In this municipality which has seven wards, 3 Nepali Congress, 2 CPN-Maoist and 2 LSP have won.

Similarly, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party has emerged victorious in Kothamai village municipality of the district. Bal Krishna Tiwari has won the post of chairperson and Sushila Kumari Yadav has won the post of vice-chairperson. Out of 7 wards in Kothimai, Lospa has won 3, Janata Samajwadi Party has won 2 and Congress and Nepal Janata Party have won 1-1.

According to the District Election Office, counting of votes is underway in Tilotta. According to Ayodhya Prasad Bhandari, Chief of the District Election Office, Rupendehi, the recount was delayed for three days due to a dispute in Tilotta. According to him, the postponed counting started only after the Election Commission decided to conduct the recount.
