In Kathmandu Metropolitan City-22, Chinikaji Maharjan of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has won the post of chairperson. Maharjan defeated his Nepali Congress rival Shaligram Tandukar by 582 votes. Maharjan got 2,060 votes while Tandukar got 1,478 votes. Similarly, Congress candidates Anil Hada and Chandraman Tuladhar have won the ward seats. Lalita Khadgi of the Nepali Congress and Geeta Pariyar of the CPN-UML have already been elected unopposed as women members. According to Chief Election Officer Raju Kumar Khatiwada, out of 145,362 votes counted in the party so far, 5,643 votes have been invalidated.
