The People's Freedom Party candidate has been elected the mayor of Tikapur Municipality in the Kailali district in the local level election. Ramlal Dagaura Tharu won the election to the post of the mayor by defeating Nawaraj Rawal of the Nepali Congress who was the common candidate of the three-party alliance. Tharu secured 9,642 votes while his closest competitor Rawal bagged 6,642 votes.
The three-party alliance candidate Khadak Shah has been elected the deputy mayor by defeating Ulkadevi BK of the People's Freedom Party. Shah secured 7,955 votes and BK bagged 7,802.
The CPN (Maoist Center) has won in three wards, the Nepali Congress in three wards, the People's Freedom Party in two wards, and the UML in one ward of the municipality.
