Today is the last day of the twelve-year Pindeshwar Poorna Mahakumbha Mela, which has been running for the past 1 month in Barahkshetra Municipality-1 Chatradham of Sunsari.
People reached Chatradham from different parts of the country as well as from abroad.
Chatradham, also known as ancient Haridwar, has been organizing Kumbha since Bikram Sambat 2059. Ardha Kumbha Mela is held here every 6 years and Purn Kumbha Mela is held every twelve years. Kumbha Mela has been taking place for a long time in Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh), Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh), Nashik (Maharashtra) and Haridwar (Uttarakhand) in India.
According to Jagatguru Balasanta Mohansharan Devacharya, said that the Saptakoshi river in Barahkshetra and Pindeshwardham in Sunsari are connected with Kumbha Mela in Hindu scriptures.
