Banks and financial institutions will no longer be closed on governmental holidays.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) brought such a provision on Friday by revising the Integrated Instruction 2079 issued to banks and financial institutions of categories A, B, and C.
Now, apart from the list of bank holidays issued by Nepal Rastra Bank, essential banking services such as cash transactions, check clearance, and RTGS should be regularized on the days of emergency holidays given by the government of Nepal.
The bank has also set the time to keep the office open on such holidays from 10 am to 1:30 pm. At this time, there is an instruction from the NRB that banks and financial institutions should keep the necessary departments and offices open and provide services.
