Nepal Share Exchange (Nepse) – an index measuring share transaction in stock market – has reached a new height with double-digit growth.
With today's gain, NEPSE has set a journey to 2,600. This is the highest point as of today. According to NEPSE sources, the index has gained 25.50 points and reached 2,601.51.
The sensitive index which measures share transactions of big companies has reached 473.53 with the growth of 4.09 points. Traded share amount has also gone up with the double-digit improvements in NEPSE.
A total of 17,732,765 shares of 208 companies were traded today, accumulating a total transaction of over Rs 10.035 billion.
As the transaction amount grew on Tuesday, the capitalisation of the total market has reached around Rs 3,600 billion which is almost close to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.
Today's market capitalization has exceeded Rs 3584.76 billion. Shares of four sub-category companies have increased while eight other sub-categories have witnessed fall. The development bank and other category have seen green indication with the investors buying shares of banking sub-category.
The banking sector has grown by 38.41 points following by other category companies (6.47) and group investment fund (0.11).
