The City Police Force of Kathmandu Metropolitan City has started an awareness campaign against road encroachment to make the footpaths more passenger-friendly. In the campaign, the businessmen who have been conducting business by encroaching on the road have been reminded about the difficulty of walking, the compulsion of passengers to walk on the road and possible accidents, and they have been asked to refrain from an unauthorized business.
Traders have been requested not to take out goods on the road, not to build additional structures, and not to spoil the beauty by covering things like tripal.
