Kathmandu DAO bans mass gatherings, fairs, festivities

Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) has banned unnecessary gatherings, fairs, rallies, feasts and festivities from today midnight.

The DAO has issued the order as per the decision taken by the Council of Ministers, pursuant to Section 2 of Infectious Disease Act, 2020, and Sub Section 3 of Section 6 of Local Administration Act, 2028. 

As per the order issued by Kathmandu's Chief District Officer (CDO) Govinda Prasad Rijal, people are not allowed to hold mass gatherings outside the house. Processions, rallies and taking part in feasts and festivities that form crowd have also been prohibited. 

The order will remain effective till the DAO issues another notice.
