Speed limit set to 50 km per hour in Kathmandu

Vehicles are not allowed to drive at a speed of more than 50 kilometers per hour in Kathmandu Valley.

According to the Traffic Police Office, Kathmandu, the speed limit of 50 km on the fast track and 20 km on the service track of Kalanki-Koteshwor road section, in order to reduce and prevent accidents, taking into account the speed control provisions mentioned in the Motor Vehicles and Transport Management Act, 2049 and the physical condition of the road. .

Similarly, the speed limit has been set at 50 km per hour on the Koteshwor-Bhaktapur road section. According to traffic police, speed limit boards have also been placed at different places of the valley to set the speed limit as required.

The traffic police have been fining those who drive more than the specified speed.
