KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has filed a petition in the Patan High Court against the Kathmandu District Court order.

On January 16, Kathmandu District Court Judge Madhav Prasad Adhikari ordered his release on bail of Rs 60 lakh in a case related to the misappropriation of savings of Swarnalakshmi Cooperative in Kalimati, Kathmandu.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the bail demand under Section 68 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Lamichhane has filed a petition in the High Court under Section 73 to have the case tried on a regular date under Section 69.

The petition filed by Lamichhane has been registered. The first hearing in the petition has been scheduled for next Monday.
