18 enumerators and five supervisors will be deployed for agricultural census in Rukum (East). The Central Statistics Office has been conducting national agriculture census every 10 years. Accordingly, the seventh agricultural census is being conducted across the country this year. Training has been organized for the enumerators in the districts to be used in the census.
Training is continuing in Rukumkot. The training will continue till April 16, according to the Agriculture Census Office, Rukum (East). Chief of the office Shatis Kumar Chaudhary informed that 49 counting areas have been identified in the district for this purpose. According to him, the agricultural census will be conducted from April 19 to June 2. In 45 days, the calculation will be conducted in two stages. In the first stage there will be listing and in the second stage the main questionnaire will be filled.
Details including farmer's family, consumption and use of land in calculation, description of allotted land, area of irrigated land, area of land planted with vegetables and fruits, cereals, legumes, pulses, groundnuts, oilseeds, cash crops, and major crop production, seed vision, use of pesticides and fertilizers will be collected.
Information will also be collected on the number of livestock according to caste, condition of buildings and structures used in agriculture, agricultural tools, fisheries, beekeeping, mushroom farming, floriculture, loans in agriculture, insurance, grants, workers, land in the name of women and adequacy of food.
