HoR adjourned for week; UML continues to obstruct

The first sitting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has been adjourned for one week. Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has adjourned the meeting of the HoR for a week. The next sitting has been adjourned for next week Tuesday till 1 PM.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota chaired the sitting amidst chanting of UML lawmakers. Likewise, in Tuesday's meeting, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Prasad Badu will present the first amendment 2021 ordinance of Nepal Police and Province Police related to (Operation, Supervision, and Coordination) on behalf of the government. He has also presented the Acid and Other Hazardous Chemicals (Regulation) Ordinance 2021 and the Social Security (First Amendment) Ordinance 2021.

Similarly, Railway Ordinance 2021, Ordinance 2021 to amend some Acts against Sexual Violence, and Ordinance to amend some Acts related to Criminal Offenses and Criminal Procedure has also been introduced in the Parliament.

There is a provision that the ordinance brought by the government should be tabled in the first sitting of the parliament when the parliament session is not in progress. Meanwhile, the main opposition party, CPN UML has obstructed the HoR continuously.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota chaired the HoR meeting amidst the chanting of UML lawmakers.
