KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the government to address the legitimate demands of agitating teachers through dialogue and negotiation.

Speaking at a program organized by the Nepal Muslim Association at the Congress Party Office in Sanepa on Sunday, Deuba emphasized the importance of resolving the teachers’ concerns through meaningful discussion.

“If there are challenges in meeting the demands, both the government and the teachers should seek solutions through dialogue,” he said.

Deuba also highlighted the inclusive nature of Nepal’s constitution, noting that while no single party may easily secure a majority, the constitution ensures space for all through inclusive and proportional representation. “Nepal’s constitution is a strong foundation for inclusiveness,” he added.

He further stated that the Nepali Congress party has upheld the values of inclusivity and proportional representation in its own structure, ensuring representation from all communities, including the Muslim community.

“The Congress party has prominent leaders from the Muslim community and continues to promote diversity within its ranks,” Deuba said.
