Import of Chinese goods stopped

Import business from Rasuwagadhi has been suspended till the upcoming local elections.

According to Chief District Officer Nawaraj Jaisi, the import of goods has been stopped as per the agreement between the two neighboring officials of the Nepal-China border area.

 According to the Border Security Post, readymade and hydro materials were imported through 13 big tellers on Tuesday. It is said that the import of goods has been stopped as per the regular procedure of stopping the movement from the international border 72 hours before the polling time.

 Since the beginning of the Covid-19 transition, only Chinese drivers have been able to reach Rasuwagadhi unilaterally at the closed checkpoints.

 According to Bharat Adhikari, Information Officer at Rasuwagadhi Customs Office, Timure, the process of customs clearance has been postponed for a few days as most of the staffs have been mobilized for the election.
