A meeting of the National Assembly has been held amid protests by the CPN (UML). After the UML lawmakers protested at the meeting without taking their seats, National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina gave time to UML's Devendra Dahal to speak.
MP Dahal said that the demands they have been raising since the previous session have not been met and informed the House that their protests are continuing in this session as well. Accusing the government of not showing interest in the operation of the house, he informed that the obstruction of the house was continuing as the demand for publication of notice of action was still pending against the 14 UML lawmakers who had taken action in the past.
He had pushed the agenda after UML lawmakers were protesting despite repeated requests from National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina. Today's meeting of the National Assembly observed a minute of silence for the unknown martyrs who sacrificed their lives for democracy and republic. At the beginning of the meeting, he informed about the letter received from President Vidyadevi Bhandari.
