The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Gebreis, has left for Geneva today after completing a three-day visit to Nepal.
He was on a visit to Nepal at the invitation of Health and Population Minister Virodh Khatiwada. The Director General was accompanied by Dr. Poonam Khetrapal, Regional Director, WHO Regional Office for Southeast Asia, and other WHO officials.
During the visit, he had various courtesy meetings with President Vidyadevi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka and Minister Khatiwada.
The delegation led by the Director General was bade farewell at Tribhuvan International Airport by senior officials of the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
