A climbing team led by renowned climber Nirmal Purja successfully submitted Mt Kanchenjunga, Mt Everest, and Mt Lhotse in 8 days, 23 hours, and 10 minutes. The team ascended Mt Lhotse from Mt Everest in just 26 hours, that too without oxygen.
They had climbed Mt. Kanchenjunga by 10:50 am on May 7. Team leader Nirmal Purja said, “I aim to inspire people and show what can be achieved with a positive and strong mindset”.

They then reached the summit of Mt Everest on May 15 at 8 am.

In a span of six months and six days, Nirmal Purja has set a world record by climbing all the 14 peaks above 8,000 meters around the world. He was also the first person to reach the summit of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Mt Makalu within 48 hours. In 2021, he along with nine other Nepali mountaineers completed the first winter climb of K2, the world’s second-largest mountain.
