KATHMANDU: The price of gold declined on Tuesday. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of hallmark gold was fixed at NPR 184,300 per tola.

During trading on Chaitra 21, the price of gold had reached NPR 186,000 per tola. However, following the public holiday for the New Year on Monday, the first trading on Tuesday saw a decrease of NPR 1,700 per tola.

According to the Federation, over the course of one year (from Chaitra 30, 2080 to Chaitra 21, 2081), the price of gold had increased by NPR 47,000 per tola.

Similarly,the price of silver has also decreased. On Chaitra 31, silver was traded at NPR 1,960 per tola, but on Tuesday, it dropped to NPR 1,945 per tola.
