KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has dropped by double digits on the first trading day of this week. Today, the NEPSE index dropped by 13.53 points to settle at 2,583.29.
Today, 9,180,718 shares of 319 companies were bought and sold 57,863 times, resulting in a transaction worth Rs 4.51 billion 8385,107.
The hydropower group increased by 0.65 and the production and processing group by 1.57 percent, while all other sub-indices decreased. The development bank group decreased the most by 2.05 and the finance group by 1.49 percent. Banking 0.87, Hotel and Tourism 0.01, Investment 1.18, Life Insurance 0.81, Microfinance 0.39, Mutual Fund 0.35, Non-Life Insurance 0.82, Trade 1.35 and others all 0.37 percent, according to Nepse.
In today's trading, the share prices of Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Bahari Hydropower Public Limited and Nyadi Hydropower Limited have entered a positive circuit. Among the biggest losers, the share price of Saptakoshi Development Bank Limited has decreased by 6.40 percent.
Based on the transaction amount and number of shares traded, the highest number of shares of River Falls Farm Limited worth Rs 220 million, 312 thousand, 834 were bought and sold today.
