Lalitpur police recover 159 oxygen cylinders

Police in Lalitpur district collected a total of 159 oxygen cylinders that were not in use from various places.

Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur took initiative to search for oxygen cylinders that were not in use since the hospitals in the valley have witnessed a surge of incoming patients suffering from COVID-19.

Meanwhile, police handed over the recovered oxygen cylinders to various hospitals implementing the decision taken by the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre.

According to police, 50 cylinders were handed over to Patan Academy of Health Sciences; 30 to KIST Medical College, Imadol; 10 to Bajrabarahi Chapagaun Hospital, 15 to Alka Hospital, Jawalakhel for the treatment of COVID patients.

Likewise, a team including Lalitpur's Chief District Officer (CDO) Lalit Kumar Basnet, Superintendent of Police (SP) Prazwal Maharjan, National Investigation Department chief, District Heath Office Chief and Cottage and Small Industry Department chief monitored various oxygen plants in the district.

Meanwhile, police have urged the general public to coordinate with MPR and to inform nearby hospitals if anybody learns about the oxygen cylinder that is not in use.
