KATHMANDU: The government is sending humanitarian aid to Myanmar following a recent devastating earthquake.

The assistance package includes essential supplies such as food, medicines, clothes, tarpaulins, and tents.

The relief items, gathered from various government bodies and private organizations, will be transported to Myanmar today (Wednesday) via a special Nepal Airlines Corporation flight.

The Ministry of Home Affairs reported that the aid shipment weighs 41 tons and is valued at approximately Rs 24.7 million.

Earlier in the evening, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak visited the aid storage facility at Tribhuvan International Airport, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts in delivering timely disaster relief.

Myanmar experienced a 7.7-magnitude earthquake on March 28. Notably, Myanmar had provided support to Nepal in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquake.
