Importance of NAM is increasing: Prime Minister

 Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has said that it is important to have a summit of non-aligned nations (NAM) at a time when there are serious problems in the world. He said that its need has increased more than before.

During the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Nations, Prime Minister Prachanda, who was in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, while talking to the media said that the need of the NAM has increased.

During the 19th Summit of Non-Aligned Nations, Prime Minister Prachanda told the media in Uganda's capital, Kampala.

"This conference took place at a time when there were serious problems in the world. Be it Ukraine war or Hamas-Israel war. Just recovered from covid. Less developed countries are grappling with the problem. I have raised the voice that NAM should insist on solving all these problems on behalf of Nepal," said the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Prachanda said that developed countries have made many commitments in the past but have not followed through. He said that NAM should take initiative and raise a stronger voice.

Prime Minister Prachanda mentioned that the need for NAM has increased now than before and said that the role of Nepal has become stronger.

"Nepal is also a founding member of the Non-Aligned Movement. Nepal has been playing a role in the Non-Aligned Movement since its establishment," said the Prime Minister.
