Health Ministry said on Wednesday that the two foreign nationals infected with the Omicron variant have now tested negative.
They had undergone a test upon arrival and were confirmed to be infected on November 25 and 26. Later on December 5, the genome sequencing of their swab samples showed they were infected with the Omicron variant of the virus.
The Health Ministry had announced on Monday that they found 2 Omicron infections.
Both infected persons had gone through a PCR test on Tuesday. 66 others who went through the test after contact tracing had shown negative results.
One of the infected individuals had arrived in Nepal via airplane and the other had come in close contact with them. Following their positive results, both were placed in hotel quarantine.
