Nepal's first human milk bank established in Kathmandu

The country's first human milk bank 'Amrit Kosh' has been established at Paropakar Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Kathmandu. This fund has the facility to safely collect; process, test and store donated milk from pregnant mothers and provide it to the needy babies. This 'Nectar Fund' has been established in partnership with the Government of Nepal, the European Union and UNICEF.

This is an important step to ensure a child friendly health system.
