The government has made plans to vaccinate children in the age group of 12 to 17 years within 10 days.
In a press briefing of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Secretary of the Ministry Dr. Roshan Pokharel informed that Pfizer vaccine will be given to children aged 12 to 17 in eight districts including Kathmandu within 10 days.
Earlier, the ministry had announced that the Pfizer vaccination campaign, which will start on December 28, has been postponed for now. The ministry had postponed the vaccination campaign for a few days due to lack of syringes for the vaccine, and the Pfizer vaccine required for vaccination.
Secretary Pokharel said that the chemical solutions required for Pfizer vaccination have already arrived. He also said that the syringes for Pfizer vaccine and it is expected to arrive by January 4.
The Pfizer vaccine campaign requires a 0.33 mm syringe made by Pfizer. 664,650 Pfizer vaccines have already arrived for the vaccination campaign.
