In recent days, the number of students applying for No Objection Certificate (NOC) has increased tremendously.
According to the NOC branch of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, between one thousand and twelve hundred students come in a week to get foreign study permit.
Branch Chief Hari Prasad Niraula said that the number of students going to study in Australia, Japan, UK, Canada, India and other countries is very high. "The pressure has increased and we are having problems in providing services to all," he said.
Students going to study abroad have to get a license from the Ministry of Education. "If the same number of students continue to study abroad, what will happen to Nepal's higher education after five years?" asked Niraula.
Due to the increasing pressure of students, the NOC branch of the ministry has decided to do the verification of students' certificates only through online.
