The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Thursday reported 2,365 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 292,152.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have reported 1,174 new cases of coronavirus infection — 987 in Kathmandu, 106 in Lalitpur and 81 in Bhaktapur — in the past 24 hours.
As many as 252 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 276,345 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Thursday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 94.6 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 3,117 with the report of eight more deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 12,690 active cases in Nepal.
Earlier, the MoHP on Wednesday had reported 2,220 cases of coronavirus that had taken the nationwide tally to 289,787.
As of Thursday, a total of 2379402 persons have undergone the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. Presently, there are 12,690 persons staying in isolation while 81 others have been placed in quarantine in the country.
More than 143.88 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 3,198,372 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a tally showed as of 3:01 pm, on Thursday, April 22, 2021.
The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
