The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Friday reported 288 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 279,388.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley has reported 129 new cases of coronavirus infection — 117 in Kathmandu, nine in Lalitpur and three in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours. A total of 52 males and 77 females have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the valley in the past 24 hours.
As many as 127 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 273,735 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Friday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has remained 3,038 since no death from COVID-19 has been reported on Friday. Presently, there are 2615 active cases in Nepal.
Earlier, the MoHP on Thursday had reported 332 new cases of coronavirus that had taken the nationwide tally to 279,100.
More than 133.99 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 3,040,913 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 3:9 pm, on Friday, April 9, 2021.
The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
