The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Saturday reported 85 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 276,750.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley has reported 50 new cases of coronavirus infection — 37 in Kathmandu, eight in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours. A total of 33 males and 17 females have been reported to be detected with the coronavirus infection in the valley.
As many as 93 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 272,435 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Saturday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.4 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 3,027 with three more deaths reported in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 1,288 active cases in Nepal.
Earlier, the MoHP on Friday had reported 156 new cases of coronavirus that had taken nationwide tally to 276,665.
More than 125.94 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,891,264 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 09:01 am on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
