Another Omicron case confirmed in Nepal

Another 'Omicron' variant of coronavirus has been confirmed in Nepal. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Omicron was confirmed in one person and Delta variant in 22 people during regular gene sequencing.

Ministry spokesperson Dr. Sangeeta Kaushal Mishra said that the 92-year-old was in isolation at his home. Earlier, this variant was confirmed in one person in Nepal. A total of 7,233 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and 217 people were found to be infected. The ministry also said that the infection was confirmed in 19 out of 4,043 people tested for antigens.

Similarly, 272 people have been infected in the last 24 hours. Two people have died of coronavirus infection. It is said that 5,185 people are in isolation including 4,948 home isolation and 237 institutional ones.
