Bahrain has taken a decision not to grant new work permits to migrant workers from Nepal along with labourers from countries on the red list for the time being.

The government of Bahrain has informed that workers from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Vietnam will not be issued work permits temporarily as a precaution against the spread of the coronavirus.

After the number of patients being infected with the COVID-19 started rising in Nepal, Bahrain had placed the country on its red list.

However, the halt in issuing work permits is just a temporary measure. The Bahraini government will take further decisions based on the infection rate.
