Budget: National cyber information centre to be established

The government has announced that a national cyber information centre would be established to make information and communications sector respected, responsible and safe.

Announcing the annual budget for the fiscal year, 2022/23 on Sunday, Finance Minister Janardan Sharam informed that the centre would be focused on safety of electronic information system.

Similarly, the government would decrease the internet tariff and ensure quality and accessible telecommunication service.

Under the communications category, the Finance Minister further announced that security printing and printing department would be merged. The scheme of accident insurance to journalists and public welfare advertisement are also continued by the government. Even the online media would be incorporated in this scheme.

Service of Radio Nepal and Nepal Television would be reached to 100 percent geography while film city in Dolakha would be forwarded in a public-private partnership concept. The Ministry for Communications and Information Technology has been allocated Rs 8.69 billion for this coming fiscal year.
