The Kanchanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry handed over a memorandum on Monday evening with various demands to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami.

A team led by the association's president Jung Bahadur Malla met Chief Minister Dhami in Banbasa, India and handed over a memorandum demanding 24-hour traffic on the Banbasa bridge.

"The bridge, which used to be open for four hours daily, is now open for seven hours on the initiative of the Chief Minister," said Malla.

The association said that there was a problem due to the lack of agricultural quarantine and also demanded the establishment of it. Understanding the memorandum, Chief Minister Dhami said that Nepal and India have had religious and economic ties since time immemorial. "The issue of opening the border is also a matter of necessity," he said. "We will take initiative in this regard as soon as possible."
