Bhagatpur Nimbukheda Drinking Water and Sanitation Project have come into operation at Salghari of Bhimdutta municipality-18 in Kanchanpur, the district in the Sudur Paschim Province.
The operation of the Rs 78.9 million project marks the 18th anniversary of Bhimdutta municipality, it is said.
Local consumers have contributed Rs 14.3 million for the project. More than 500 people have benefited from it. An overhead tank with a capacity of 450 cubic meters has been constructed for the project.
There is a target of installing about 40,000 meters of the pipeline for the distribution of drinking water under the project. Ward Chair Rajendra Pandey said that water taps have been fixed in 500 households for the time being. "We will continue the work of expanding the drinking water pipeline bearing in mind the needs of consumers," he said.
