Eight people who had gone to plant paddy were not able to return home last night in Lamjung due to the flood. They had to spend the night in the middle of the river and were rescued this morning.
They had gone to plant paddy in a field in Ward No. 6 of Madhyanepal Municipality which is close to the Midim River. However, since the river started eroding the land around them in the paddy field they were trapped in the middle of the river.
They were rescued at 10 am today through the joint efforts of the municipality office and the local police office. According to the police, the eight people were rescued with the help of an excavator.
