People’s movement has been curtailed as the flood in Marshyangdi River has damaged the suspension bridge connecting Gorkha and Tanahun districts.

The suspension bridge connecting Gaupling of Gorkha Municipality-14 and Ekleyphat of Anbukhaireni-2 in Tanahun has been damaged by the flood. The section of the suspension bridge towards Tanahun has been damaged and has fallen into the Marshyangdi River.

Ward Chairperson of Ward No. 14 of Gorkha Municipality, Ram Bahadur Khadka, informed that people have not been able to move across as the suspension bridge has been damaged.

Meanwhile, the Dhundure River has washed away land on both sides of a motorable bridge in Ward No. 2 of Palungtar Municipality in Gorkha. Locals have said that the erosion on both ends of the bridge has put the bridge at risk of being damaged.
