A culvert set up at Sheratar of Shuklagandaki-7 along the Prithvi Highway has been swept away by the flood, causing a disruption on highway traffic.
A flooded stream in the wake of incessant rainfall since Friday night carried away the drain, causing a complete halt in vehicular movement, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, Dipak Kumar Ray.
Hundreds of vehicles operate along this highway. A police team left for the incident site immediately after getting the information on road disconnection, he added.
It would take time to resume the traffic.
Meanwhile, a landslip deposited at Mauriodhar of Myagde rural municipality-6 blocked the road. DSP Ray informed that it was difficult to remove the mudflow until the rain stops. "The landslip is continuous and rainfall posing threat," he shared.
The district police has requested drivers and other concerned to maintain alertness in the highway.
