The driver died in a jeep accident on Sunday evening on the inner unpaved road section of Shuklagandaki Municipality-12 Piuri Dobhan under the Prithvi Highway. Seven passengers were injured in the accident.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Bahadur Khan of District Police Office Tanahun informed that the deceased is 39-year-old Kul Bahadur Sunar of Putlibazar Municipality-6 in Syangja.
The jeep number G1J 7942, which was going from Dulegowda to Piuri Dobhan, went out of control and fell down one hundred and eight feet from the road. The driver died on the spot. 21-year-old Motikala Bhujel, 35-year-old Babita Bhujel, 31-year-old Kalpana Bhujel, 8-year-old Arav Bhujel, 9-year-old Rusika Thapa, 30-year-old Tilkumari Thapa and 27-year-old Hemkumari Bhujel were injured in the jeep accident.
The injured are being treated at the GP Koirala Respiratory Treatment Center at Shuklagandaki Municipality-5 Belchautara, Motikala, while the other injured are being treated at the Gandaki Medical College, Pokhara.
