Kanchanpur reports first death in second wave of COVID-19

A man succumbed to COVID-19 in course of treatment at Mahakali Hospital in Kanchanpur district. 

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old man of Bhimdatta Municipality-15 in the district. He had returned from Gujarat, India on April 4.

This is so far the first death in Kanchanpur following the second wave of COVID-19, Kanchanpur District Health Office in charge, Shivaraj Sunar told the Rastriya Samachar Samiti.

As informed, the dead body of the infected will be managed this afternoon. 

Earlier, as many as 14 coronavirus-infected had lost their lives in Kanchanpur. After the second wave, 64 out of 980 people tested through Antigen have been found infected with the virus.

Twelve among them are undergoing treatment at the isolation centre of the Mahakali Hospital.

Two persons of Bhimdatta Municiplaity-2 were diagnosed with the coronavirus in Kanchanpur.
